This year's theme is 'Music & Food for Humanity' and celebrates Ethiopian culture and cuisine with music from our community and food from 10 esteemed Chicago Chefs! A huge thanks to Bronzeville Winery for opening their doors to host our event this year.
All proceeds are donated to Health Professionals Network for Tigray, a non-profit dedicated to helping those affected by the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Tigray, Ethiopia.

'Cooking for a Cause' Class at Time Out Market
All the proceeds are going to be donated for women and children affected by the war in Tigray.
Join Demera owner and chef Tigist Reda as she cooks for a cause at Time Out Market Chicago. All proceeds from the evening will go toward benefitting the women and children affected by the war in Tigray. Attendees will learn how to make Ethiopian staples like doro wot (bone-in Amish chicken stew with berbere sauce), misir wot (split red lentils stew) and gomen (slow-cooked collard greens with onions, garlic and ginger), as well as the traditional sour flatbread known as injera. At the end of the class, you’ll also get to take home a gift bag filled with spices, recipes and more.
Included: cooking class 4 different menu items, gift bag: Berbere powder, cardamom, kibbeh butter, lentils and teff flour)

Chicago Chef's Cook: Earthquake Relief
Chicago’s chef community is boldly stepping up to support and provide humanitarian relief to all people affected by the earthquakes that devastated Türkiye and Syria. Proceeds from this event will be donated to World Central Kitchen, in an effort to deliver food, nourishment and resources to survivors.
This event is organized by the Chicago Chefs Cook group. Revenue will be collected by and distributed through fiscal sponsorship provided by Green City Market, a 501c3 nonprofit (EIN: EIN: 36-4289022).

The 16th annual event brings together more than 300 of the city’s top restaurants, representing a near-endless array of cuisines.
During Chicago Restaurant Week, diners can enjoy special prix fixe menus from restaurants throughout Chicago and nearby suburbs. Chicago Restaurant Week 2023 will run from Friday, Jan. 20 to Sunday, Feb. 5, 2023.

Join us for a Thanksgiving Vegan Extravaganza 2022! Bring Demera into your home this Thanksgiving so you can relax, eat and enjoy the family, cooking free! Pre-order by Tuesday 11/22 and pick-up your 3-course vegan dinner on Wednesday 11/23 at your selected time-slot.
The second course features a mix of 12 of our best vegan dishes with some holiday-themed additions as well! Add a bottle of house-made honey wine or Sangria to complete the order. Gluten-Free Teff Injera is an optional add-on for an additional charge.

Chicago Chef’s Cook for Tigray: Annual Fundraising Event
Join Host, Tigist Reda, in conjunction with HPN4TIGRAY, organized by Tony Priolo, Sarah Stegner, Darren Gest and Eda Davidman of Chicago Chefs Cook, and Jodi Fyfe of The Paramount Group.
Event details: There will be chef-curated stations, performances, a marketplace to purchase merchandise and more. Other important details: Tickets are required for entry and can be purchased at the door. The attire is casual and parking will be onsite along with street parking.
Proceeds will support humanitarian relief, with emphasis on women and children living in Tigray or refugees in Sudan. This event funds disaster relief projects headed by Health Professionals Network for Tigray (HPN4Tigray). Ticket and vendor sales will go towards purchasing food aid, life-saving emergency supplies, medication, medical supplies, etc.
